Dunya Atay - Mixed Media Illustrations.

These imaginative and detailed creations from Turkish artist, Dunya Atay, aren't photoshoped, do not use glue, or scissors and are a single image. Using only markers, pens and inks, the illustrator distorts and alters images from a plethora of fashion magazines to create a really unique take on mixed media imagery. the art of KAWS.

A graffiti enthusiast who started his artistic life in New York, drawing on the city's billboards, Brian Donnelly [KAWS] is now a well respected and highly credible artist. Paintings and sculptures in playful colours, infused with pop culture references, are what he is best known for. With a huge following in Asia, and a recent book release, the graffiti kid has earned credentials in the world of art.

foot prints.

My boyfriend is a self confessed trainer enthusiast. I have spent countless hours in various shoe shops, waiting patiently as he swoons over ridiculously expensive trainers in a a vast array of colours and styles. And every christmas and birthday his request is the same. Trainers. Now something must have rubbed off on me over the past six years because I find myself living in my Vans recently (and I am not a trainer fan but I am slowly coming round to his comfortable way of thinking). Ask anyone who knows me.....I am not a trainer person.

While my enthusiasm for such practical footwear is out-shined by my better half penchant for such shoes, the writer in me appreciates NIKE's 2011 effort with their Premium Print Pack. With a nod to the eco trend and references to the unravelling print world of today, I am rather impressed with their creations. Not that i'll be defaulting from my Vans for a pair of these mind.

Merry Christmas

image from getty

My christmas isn't going to a traditional (English) one this year. This is our first christmas together in Cyprus and instead of pigs in blankets and stuffing we'll be munching chicken souvla and tatziki.
But whatever your doing and how ever your celebrating,
I am wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

Lets get digital

Austrian illustrator Michael Ostermann adds his own little touch to photographs, with the help from his self-made resources and some photo-manipulation techniques. Deconstructing a basic image and adding layers, textures, colours in turn not only distorts the image, but can add depth, emotion and meaning. These are some of my favourite images from him, found on Trendland.com. Check out his website here.

Self Portrait

Removed from the conventional idea of a self portrait, Jonas Fornerod series of photographs, entitled "The Centre of My World" mainly captures his silhouette in a variety of locations. The emphasis seems to be more on his changing environment, creating an ambiguous image of himself.

Black Swan

When I have kid's......

They're going to wear ZARA. Cut well, with quality fabrics and really cool style for little ones, the ZARA childrenswear collections always make me jealous I dont have a little person to dress.
