It's good to step back.
Gain a little perspective.
And realise what's really important in life.
I have a tendency to stress about the insignificant. I don't know why; maybe because my nature is to be organised and prepared. [I am the sort of person that takes baby wipes to the beach, has a plethora of items such as vitamins, plasters, tissues and hair grips, neatly tucked into a a little pouch in my handbag and packs for trips at least a few days in advance.]

So when something throws me off guard I feel a wave of panic that I wasn't prepared for such an occasion and I tend to dwell on the negatives of such a situation. Which is silly really because how can you prepared for the unexpected. And the above is true; you can't live a positive life with a negative mind.
In this instance I have to use all my strength to find those positives in each situation. And failing that, I head for the kitchen. Because you can always find comfort there!
This is so true! I definitely worry too much x
ReplyDeleteI think its a natural trait, or genetic. My mum was exactly the same, always worried or concerned about something, mainly because she wanted everything to be ok, the right way, or perfect.
Deletei'm a constant worrier and have lots of anxiety over things i can't control. this quote is a very good reminder
ReplyDeleteIts easy to worry about stuff, but the stuff you cant control, well I guess its wasted energy really. Its always good to find the perspective in each situation :)
DeleteOh I totally agree with you there on stressing and focusing on the negatives. I do that over and over until the situation is figured out. My favourite comfort food is apricot jam and brie melted onto sliced baguette. So delicious.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I love cranberry jam, on a baguette with melted brie, so I bet using apricot jam is yummy too! Thanks for the tip :)
